Yellow is Jalisa's new favourite colour, so I was excited to find a white and yellow print to go with her white shoes. Finally the photos I have taken look good. Jalisa with wet hair does not a good picture make.
The designer has decided to have fold on facing. I wasn't thinking, but if you want a neat finish when sewing on straps, you really need sewn on facings to hide the ends of the straps. I decided to just go ahead do it as per the directions rather than recutting a new facing. Big mistake but I am pretty lazy!
Jalisa loves it and it is a good fit, apart from the length.
It's lovely - the colours are pretty and the pleats look great.

DeleteThis is an adorable dress. I'm sure you've already thought of it, but I think it would be super cute with white capri length leggings too.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yes, I just need to get around to making (or buying) some. Keep forgetting to add it to my to-do list.
DeleteIts very cute and great fabric. It is short but not indecently so to me and she can always wear it with leggings or knee length shorts underneath, thats how my daughter wears her shorter dresses and it looks very trendy/current :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I think it needs something under there, as she is only going to get taller.
DeleteSuch a pretty dress on your gorgeous girl. If you are not happy with the length - my girls used to wear a longer fluffy petticoat below their too-short dresses (tiered and twirly ones were the favourites). If the petticoat is long enough it looks deliberate ;), and is cooler than leggings for QLD summer wear.
ReplyDeleteOoh, now this is a good idea. It would look really cute too.
