Flapper-inspired dress
This is a picture of the *flop* jumpsuit - it is just too short in the length. I will have to make note not to try anything adventurous for Jay when she is not around to be measured. I think I will pass it along to a friend.
The light here this morning is orange...really weird, so an inside photo it is. Bodice is my own draft - the bottom part was inspired a little by a picture that I have in my inspirations folder (the original was a skirt and the technique, from what I can see, is a lot different to how I made my flaps). I think I may need to make some white pants for underneath - should be nice and breezy for our record high temps.

The dress is just gorgeous!!! I love the material, nice and bright too.
ReplyDeleteyou could put a white waistband in the middle of the jumper.. it would be a design element with the white ties and neckline trim
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion Mary - I did think of that and with some shirring at the back, I just thought it would be easier to pass on. I might have another look at it today!
ReplyDeletei was about to suggest what mary did! it's a cute jumpsuit!
ReplyDeleteI love the skirt of this dress. Have you used interfacing to stiffen it?
ReplyDeletethanks for the comments guys. Belinda - I did not use interfacing to stiffen it. There are 2 layers to each rectangle and it is not a drapey fabric so it holds it's shape well.
